just how tough is veteran difficulty in COD4?

I wouldn't suggest it as your first time through. I'm doing it now, and it makes all encounters that are particularly challenging MORE CHALLENGING. Enemies chunk more grenades more accurately. Last night I swore I had like 4 or 5 grenades on my indicator at one time.
