Here's a thread to keep tabs on the track lists for each game. Coming from someone that is planning on buying both games I am a little distressed that many of the songs are in both games.

I'm not sure if "welcome to the jungle" is in rock band, I'm guessing it is off of the video a few months ago where they were playing it

The difference between Guitar Hero III and Rock Band is that the latter will have more master tracks. I'm still getting GHIII though, Rock Band isn't released in Europe until 2008.

The whole master track thing doesn't bother me much. Just about all of the tracks in guitar hero II were covers and I didn't find any of them offensive. But it should be noted that many of the guitar hero III songs will be master tracks, so they are improving.

I don't mind cover versions either. I think that sometimes the cover versions are better than the original song, I won't say which though as I don't want to upset anyone :-)

It's out I think. And I'm pretty sure you can use your GH2 guitar on both GH3 and Rock Band. Also Rock Band should release in November.

Both games are really shaping up. I enjoy GH, and I want to get GHIII, but Rock Band looks great and then I could play full band with my friends. And I just dont have the money for both. Im in a pickle

When was Creep announced? I'm a huge Radiohead fan but I cannot stand that song. They should have gone with Paranoid Android. Ah well, they got my money anyway.

I think GH3 had the edge on track list until the recent additions to Rock band. Right now I'm leaning a little bit towards RB

I'm only getting GH III this year. May pick up Rock Band somewhere down the road but GH III will be enough for me for awhile. Plus, I'm more partial to GH III's track list, though Rock Band does have some great ones.
