i dont like alexa - btw its 292k now lol - it fluctuates - best was 220k i believe a few months back when i spend a few hundred $$ on adwords - dont have that money right now to do the same

and i dont like alexa because they only count visitors with the alexa toolbar - I don't use the alexa toolbar so they don't count me as a visitor which is pretty stupid if you ask me lol, otherwise we'd be really high

yahoo is number 1 on the list because a part of the yahoo toolbar allows the alexa rank to be shown and alexa counts that too, oh and i dont use the yahoo tool bar either lol

thats only the amount of visitors with the alexa toolbar - in reality it is probably 20% - i'll have to check for those stats later on

edit: i checked a few other sources - UK seems to be near 20% for sure - US is more ov 50% and canada about 10% - Australia around 5-6% and then the rest of the world as whatever's left

very much in the minority, i would never use alexa to rate a website

the top 10 are most likely correct, if you look hard enough you can get the actual traffic data outside of alexa

yea, would be way better if you didn't have to have the program for it to count. Just adding it to the site so it counts it when someone loads up the site would be way more accurate.

many sites track visits with a certain code within the website - Google Analytics does it, I used to use analytics but stopped after a while because GF got a new template and I forgot to switch the codes over...or was it when we converted..I don't even remember but somewhere around there.

Analytics is about 95% accurate if you put the code in properly, alexa is about 5% accurate.

*not real figures, just speaking from experience*
