trying to host a internet server on COD2

i been trying to host a internet dedicated server of my own for ages
i am having trouble trying to get on the list and join it myself
i would appreciate this help
i dont know if it is the internet connection or just me

were you able to open the dedicated server? i am not sure how COD2 works but make sure that in the LAN option, its turned off or the value is 0

also if you want to connect you have to use your own lan IP, your LAN IP can include any of these:

192.168.xx.x (the x can be any # depending on your pc)
127.0.0.1

would i have alter the CFG file in COd2

yea check the cfg file and look for LAN and make sure its value is 0 or OFF - but can you enter it with your lan ip? if yes then you should also forward the ports for your friends to get in - if you cant then you didnt set it up correctly

Also, if you are on DSL/behind a router..

You will need to lookup which ports to forward if that is the case. I had similar problem with a CS:S server.. But as soon as I figured it out my PC crash -_-
