So far these are known to be registered by spammers that come on and spam the hell out of the forum, these are just precautions. Anyone caught spamming, posting illegal contents, or anything that goes against forum TOS, you will be banned, your email address will be banned, and your IP will be banned forever. If we find you have a duplicate account and you have a dynamic IP, we will ban your whole hostname.

List of email address carriers will be updated as time goes by and more spammers are found using other services. Yahoo, Gmail, Aol, Hotmail, and other large providers will not/cannot be banned from our list.

we banned 4 spammers in the past 2 days, most in months, well i think that was the most spammers to ban in that short period of time this whole year - last time we had a huge spamming problem was october-november 2006

i dont think there is a way to check that for sure or am I missing something? and not everyone has an account with their ISP - im the only one in my family that has an ISP provided email address and i havent logged in for at least 2 months now lol

I really dunno, but if you try to use a free email address when signing up you get a message saying that that's illegal and use your ISP email.

oh then they probably just blacklisted all free email providers - 95% of the people here use free email providers, some user private domains, i dont recall seeing one with an isp unless people still use AOL as the ISP

not as bad as last year - people are coming on to sell their electronic products and what not, hate that, but none of their msg gets thru anyway, all links are blocked :D

and i just banned a 5th person in 2 days wow - really making me mad now -

How can you take off those damn spammers? Well, in my forum they just keep register there and won't go away. Keep banning them but won't dissepear. I'm using Phpbb :P

phpbb is a lot more exploitable than just spammers coming your way, and i think spam bots find it easy to register on phpbb somehow, i used to own a phpbb forum but it was overtaken by spammers and of course, i didnt visit in like 3 months and went back and saw 300 more spammers lol :D it was for my school so oh well

smf is ok, its much harder to hack, exploit, and harder for spam bots to register, this forum used to be smf before :D for like a whole 8 months

Yeah the .ru is seriously popular. On the Smf forum I had we had more spammers than members. There was 1,000 spammers and 150 members, and that was only 3 months after the forum started.

i might start moderating members - meaning no new member can post til i've approved of them, keep it until january, what do you guys think?
