Okay, I noticed that I think my sound card is inadiquit. What I noticed though is when I put my headphones in backwards, with the microphone in the headphone hole, and the headphone in the microphone hole, the game works.
When I don't do that though, the game starts up for a second then crashes.
Any idea what the heck I should do?

That's incredibly odd.
How did you figure out how to make it work like that? Lol.

Somebody said something about that on a forum. I tried it out and it worked, it sounded stupid though.

buying a better sound card could be a good first step.

does it crash when you don't have the mic and headphones plugged it? or keep on going
if it works, then i'd suggest what jak has said, u need a new sound card - or try to get a USB headset/mic like i have :D i find that to be better and easier - i dont have speakers on this pc anymore, never plugged them in after i moved

I have heard a lot of problems with sound cards and the drivers crashing the game.
Try here and see if it solves any of your problems.

That's kind of odds, it's never happend to me before. Maybe you should check your sound card.

I'm not sure what the latest Sigmatel driver would be, too many search terms and stuff. Maybe someone can link me to it.
