My cable company is Time Warner Cable and they provide some good service but they are very cunning. When I moved about 2 weeks ago, My cable modem was lost. They fined me $90 for it when I looked at my bill yesterday. I paid a $25 EQUIPMENT FEE when I first got the service.

Since I paid that $25, it means the cable modem is worth $25 since it's the EQUIPMENT. But last night they were giving me a whole different story with how the $25 was a SERVICE DEPOSIT. And if my modem was lost or stolen or not returned, I have to pay a $90 fee.

I was really ticked off and got angry at the lady I was talking with. The supervisor was worse because she didn't even know why I was told I was paying an EQUIPMENT FEE.

It's an awesome business they have, make you think the modem is worth $25 then charge you $90 if you lose it somehow.

I was going to cancel my internet but then I had to think for a minute and I figured, I'd be screwed without internet lol.

i dont even watch tv. but what satellite company offers internet service? Right now I am looking for a new company cuz time warner made me mad. I'm going to call up comcast sometime this week and see. Maybe even see that new verizon fios thing going on.

I don't know if any satellite offers internet, but you don't watch tv? that's odd, but isn't comcast the evil commies that have limit on dl's and banned all torrents? also yeah I'm looking to do fios as well but can't yet because verizon is so slow at putting fios in my area, avoid there dsl though completely sucks even though it's only 25/ month

lol, true about comcast - i dont watch tv because i have the internet - my tv broke last april, never replaced it and i dont care, as long as my computer is here, i dont really need a tv, but occasionally i go into the living room and enjoy tv with my family

and yes verizon is bad, i had them before and they are EXTREMELY SLOW - took them 2 months before they transferred my service last summer to my new location, i canceled a week before the service came and went with time warner, waste of time

and fios isn't available everywhere, they dont have the fiber wires set up everywhere yet :/ sux

thats good for you lol - i put all my computer stuff together, my modem, router, and a calculator with all the ethernet cords were in one little box - i brought all the computer stuff at the same time WITH ME - but that little box never made it, thought i left it at the old house but it wasn't there, it wasn't in the moving van, just disappeared :/
