View Full Version : Quick Reply Box

The Quick Reply Box is something that is in the bottom of all the topics, it is easier for you to respond to posts, and a whole lot faster than waiting for the page to load when you click reply, especially if you have dial up. But spend 60 seconds and you can turn that on easily and not have to wait, it'll make your posts fasters.

Steps:

1. Login (duh)
2. Click the profile button on top to check your profile.
3. In your profile, click the Looks and Layout Preferences.
4. In the bottom, there should be a dropdown button saying "Use Quick Reply On Topic Display"
5. Click the dropdown list and choose "Show, on by default" you can choose "show off by default" but then u'll have to click the button for it to appear.
6. There you have it. The quick reply box on the topics to make your replies a lot easier. Installed mod came with SMF 1.1 RC3. I will try to put the quick reply button in along with the reply when i get the chance.

well i cant do that from admin panel, wont do that, not like phpbb where admin can change all settings of all users at same time, only thing i can do that takes effect for all is change skin

when it's done you should make a poll for if people would rather keep this one or have the new one your working on

they'll get to choose between both :) i am going to enable it in thier profile, gotta give some freedom to choose :)

ok i didn't know that smf forums can have more than one skin all ones that i go to have only one

well i have 3 other skins installed right now, the only reason i dont let others pick is because they wont have the mods installed because i didnt configure those files to match with this one, it will take me a while to get the new skin up because i have to fix it so mods will work with it

ok i have reset everyone's default quickbox to being ON, can someone that had it disabled or hasnt turned it on, confirm that please, thanks, i'd appreciate it

Yeah, it's real easy to reply with the QRB, not like the olden days when you'd have to go in the topic, click "REPLY" and wait for the thing to load in.
