Fishing is usually done from the bank of a river, not from the bank down the block.
But that's where a resourceful thief in Bloomington, Ind., went to catch some big ones.
Police said the artful angler used a fishing line and hook to snag 11 bags of cash from a bank's night deposit box. He fled with his catch - er, cash - of the day, leaving his dowel rod behind.
****
This crook didn't fare as well.
He carjacked a 75-year-old woman's SUV at knifepoint while she was filling up at a Tyler, Texas, gas station.
Enraged, the feisty senior opened the SUV door and pumped him with unleaded.
He was arrested a short time later, freshly showered and carrying a bag with a bar of soap and his fuel-soaked clothes.
