So I went to my brother an his boyfriend's house to visit with my family.... we were looking at his pets and stuff when the volunteered to give us their pet bird. Apparently it was too annoying. I didn't think we'd take it, but we did! :twitcy: I'm happy now. His name is Paco and he has yellow, orange, red, green, blue, black, and white on him. He's really cool. I feel like a pirate now because he will crawl up my arm and sit on my shoulder.

Not sure how to spell it... but I think it's a Conure. He's really smart too. He wanted to go up on my shoulder but I wasn't in the mood... so he acted like he wanted this treat thing. I brought it to him and he took it; then he dropped it really quickly and jumped on my arm. He's tricksy.....

thats cool

my birds only bug me when they need something - when they need more food they start attacking me or start sitting on my head (skips my shoulder and goes to head) and if they need water they go into the kitchen and sits on the dining table near the jug of water

birds are awesome! i used to have a parrot before, like 10x the size of the ones I Have now - i was planning on getting another parakeet that's younger so I can train it fully - i started training these two at the age of 1, thats why they are so cocky and controly lol

Lol, my bird sat on my head one before too. He does this thing with his hand and he'll act like he's waving when he wants something. My brother is coming over today to bring his bigger cage; he will probably get a little more quiet then. Paco seems to drive everybody crazy but his screeching really doesn't bother me.

lol thats cool, that bird is well trained and more friendly then - my birds doesn't like guests in the house - they will go crazy ! and you probably just met your bird and he's friendly lol

my birds will just scream their lungs out when they see a new person in the house and they get scared cuz they think they'll get attacked, its really funny

i hate little kids though, thats why my birds are never in their cage when there are little kids in the house, even if they want to go back to go to sleep, i force them out - little kids like to torture the cage if the birds are in there, makes me wanna stuff the little kids in the cage and do the same to them

Ah, from the colours you mentioned my first thought was Conure. Can you take a pic? We might be able to tell the kind of conure 8D

I used to co-op with parrots at my local pet shop, and we had lots e.e I fell in love with a Sun Conure but he was sold before I could get the money D:

One thing I'll say, don't always let him go up on your shoulder. Parrots seem to take the figure of authority when they are always allowed on the shoulder with no restriction. It's like the 'alpha dog' complex. Not to say never let them, lol, I know how much fun it is to have them romping around (we used to sweep with birds on our shoulders when working). Just if they're being bossy (refusing to get down) it's time to take a break.

So congrats on your new bird and he sounds like a sweetie 8D If not loud.. but they usually are lol. (:
