How can i stop biting my nails?

I know this may sound disgusting but, a few weeks ago, i bit my middle finger down so low on one side it got infected. I always had this problem, and now it ruined 5 of my names. I will be getting a manicure :mask: (*cough*), but after that, i need ways to stop biting my nails.

Anyone got any ideas?

or if you notice yourself biting your nails just clip them off or wear gloves :D

I know its so hard to stop, u say to yourself lets quit then next minute you know your biting them again so low that it hurts.

They have a clear-coat nail polish that makes your fingers taste really bad.
You could try that.

I bite my nails too. Usually when I go a day without doing it, i treat myself to a chocolate, that helps me resist making me almost completely stop, but during homework or tests i sometimes bite quite a bit of my pinky.

If you're gonna treat yourself, slowly make the time periods without biting longer.

most of it is incognitive - you don't really think about it, like most other bad habits -

if i have something in my hand i always play with it like throw it up in the air and catch it before i realize what im doing. - i always used to keep a coin in my hand to flip as im doing stuff lol, i don't do it anymore cuz i barely have change these days

lol same thing with me thats why i try to control my hands when im around people, i was just flipping a coin in my hand a few minutes ago - I found a penny thats why :D dont know why but this bad habit is fun - i assume the same with biting nails lol

If all else fails, try not washing your hands for a long time. Trust me you won't want to let your mouth get anywhere near your hands. ;-)
