Intel or AMD

hello im planning on having a pc built, i was planning on having the AMD PHENOM™ X4 9850 however after reading some reviews they rate the INTEL® Core 2 Extreme X6800 as a much better processor for gaming. is this the case or is it just $400 more for the name

well intel is a better processor if you look at its power - the amd phenom is also great and it is a huge money saver - i would say the intel is better for gaming but not that much greater

if you want pure power go for intel - but if you can handle lets say 80% of the power of intel and want to save a lot of money, go with amd phenom

sorry i listed the wrong intel i ment to say Intel® Core™2 Extreme QX9650, its about $250 more all though i will not be buying or upgrading my next pc for some years as my wife is planning another baby, runnig with 4gb of 1000mzh ram
