Legacy
EarthBound’s legacy is by far the saddest here, it had high critical praise yet a horrible commercial release in America , a sequel was in the works for the N64 but was scrapped, although years later they did release a sequel for GBA in Japan only.
Luckily for Ness the main character, he has become somewhat of a cult icon in the Nintendo world, and has appeared in every Super Smash Bros. game to date.

As in the previous top NES RPG article Final Fantasy has the best legacy of all JRPGs, but specifically Final Fantasy 3 has been re-released twice, once for the PSX with added cut-scenes and recently on the GBA with a retranslated script, a new dungeon, and 4 new Espers (and now know as FF6).

pursuit of happyness is average imo and ya it's rather boring, but it has good points that ppl should take on life such as if you have a dream of what job you want to do in life don't let anyone tell you can't and work your a## to reach such a goal, if you ever see it on tv give a watch...I wouldn't recommend renting/buying though. never heard of legend of bagger vance so I don't know, 2 men playing golf for 2 hr's sounds boring as hell unless there's some comedy to it, I'll go check a trailer out.

Features:
* Operating performance of 30 MIPS
* Bus bandwidth 132 MB/s
* Instruction Cache 4 KB

Geometry transformation engine
This engine is inside the main CPU chip. It gives it additional (vector-)math instructions used for the 3D graphics.
Features:
* Operating performance of 66 MIPS
* 360,000 flat-shaded polygons per second
* 180,000 texture mapped and light-sourced polygons per second
Sony originally gave the polygon count as:
* 1 million flat-shaded polygons per second;
* 500,000 texture mapped and light-sourced polygons per second.
These figures were given as a ballpark figure for performance under optimal circumstances, and so are unrealistic under normal usage.

Data decompression engine
This engine is also inside the main CPU. It is responsible for decompressing images and video. Documented device mode is to read three RLE-encoded 16×16 macroblocks, run IDCT and assemble a single 16×16 RGB macroblock. Output data may be transferred directly to GPU via DMA. It is possible to overwrite IDCT matrix and some additional parameters, however MDEC internal instruction set was never documented.
Features:
* Compatible with MJPEG and H.261 files
* Operating Performance of 80 MIPS
* Directly connected to CPU Bus

* Resolutions from 256×224 to 640×480
* Adjustable frame buffer
* Unlimited color lookup tables
* Maximum of 24-bit color depth
* Maximum of 4000 8×8 pixel sprites with individual scaling and rotation
* Emulation of simultaneous backgrounds (for parallax scrolling)

The bad dream of DRM continues. Yahoo e-mailed its Yahoo! Music Store customers yesterday, telling them it will be closing for good—and the company will take its DRM license key servers offline on September 30, 2008. Sure, it's bad news and yet another example of the sheer lobotomized brain-deadness that has characterized music DRM, but the reaction of most music fans will be: "Yahoo had an online music store?"
If you think this sounds familiar, it's because this happened earlier this year with MSN Music, although Microsoft has since relented and will keep the DRM authorization servers up and running through 2011.
Once the Yahoo store goes down and the key servers go offline, existing tracks cannot be authorized to play on new computers. Instead, Yahoo recommends the old, lame, and lossy workaround of burning the files to CD, then reripping them onto the computer. Sure, you'll lose a bunch of blank CDs, sound quality, and all the metadata, but that's a small price to pay for the privilege of being able to listen to that music you lawfully acquired. Good thing you didn't download it illegally or just buy it on CD!
No, you were one of the digital pioneers, and in this brave new frontier world, a few people are just going to get malaria. Fact of life. And someone will step in a bear trap, and then it's time for the bite rag, the alcohol, and the saw. Just the price of progress. And yes, some poor group will get trapped in snowfall when crossing the pass, and cannibalism may or may not be involved by the time they stumble barefoot from the mountains next spring. No one can prevent such tragedies.
Well, except for everyone who saw this coming. Ars has been one of only many groups banging the anti-DRM drum for years. We're not pro-piracy, we're just not dumb as rocks. DRM makes things harder for legal users; it creates hassles that illegal users won't deal with; it (often) prevents cross-platform compatibility and movement between devices. In what possible world was that a good strategy for building up the nascent digital download market?
The only possible rationales could be 1) to control piracy (which, obviously, it has had no effect on, thanks to the CD and the fact that most DRM is broken) or 2) to nickel-and-dime consumers into accepting a new pay-for-use regime that sees moving tracks from CD to computer to MP3 player as a "privilege" to be monetized. What we really need to do is just—you know what? Why bother. We've been down this road so many times before that everyone knows their lines by heart.
No, it's not the end of the world; yes, we have bigger problems. But the Yahoo news is just another depressing reminder of all the wasted time and energy put into these schemes designed to create roadblocks for legal users. At least the music business has gotten the message, and all four major labels and most indies now sell DRM-free online.
haha go to hell yahoo.

It’s good to be the peso.
The Mexican currency’s hot streak is about to take the official exchange rate through the 10-to-the-dollar threshold for the first time since 2002. American tourists, you’ve been warned.
Buttressed by rising interest rates and a surprisingly strong economy, the peso has been surging against the dollar in the last few weeks, continuing a run-up that began early in the year.
The official market rate -- meaning for large transactions at banks -- had the peso at 10.005 to the dollar this morning, down from 10.07 on Tuesday, according to Bloomberg data. Last August the dollar still was worth more than 11 pesos.
Pesopizza The last time the dollar bought fewer than 10 pesos was in October 2002.
For U.S. tourists the greenback already has crossed that line, because most bank exchange rates are much less favorable than the official rate. Wells Fargo & Co.’s online currency center today was quoting 9.2 pesos per dollar.
It’s the trend that’s important here: The peso’s strength indicates that global investors like what they see in Mexico.
For one, the nation’s central bank raised its benchmark short-term interest rate from 7.5% to 7.75% on June 20 to combat rising inflation, and lifted it again last week, to 8%. That is helping to attract more money to Mexican money market accounts and to bonds.
What’s more, "The economy has held up pretty well despite the U.S. slowdown," says Win Thin, senior currency strategist at Brown Bros. Harriman & Co. in New York.
As for the Mexican stock market, it also is holding up relatively well. Despite diving 8% in June amid the global market sell-off, the country’s IPC stock index is off a modest 6.7% year to date, about half the drop in the U.S. Standard & Poor’s 500 index.
And for U.S. investors in Mexico, the robust peso means Mexican stocks are worth more when translated into dollars. Measured in greenbacks, the IPC index is up 1.8% this year
that bad news won't stop for USA.
