BREAKING NEWS: A man has shot and killed six people and wounded two more during a shooting spree that lasted a few hours and included a high-speed chase in a rural area north of Seattle in the United States.

The suspected shooter was arrested without incident at the Skagit County Sheriff's office after leading Washington state troopers on a chase down a major highway.

Police did not identify the suspect, but said he was from Alger, Washington, a small town 75 miles north of Seattle. Local media reported that the suspect has a history of mental illness and a criminal past.

"We have multiple crime scenes with multiple victims," said Sgt Robert Goetz with the Everett police department. "This incident is very large in scope."

One of the victims was a sheriff's deputy, who was responding to an emergency call reporting a person had been shot.

Later, police discovered the bodies of two construction workers a few blocks from where the deputy and the first victim were shot. Police also found another victim in the vicinity and later found a person shot dead in a car off the highway.

The incident is the latest in a series of mass shootings over the last few years in the United States, which is estimated to have the world's highest civilian gun ownership rate, leading gun control advocates to push for tighter restrictions.

Prypiat (Ukrainian: При́п'ять, Pryp”jat’; Russian: При́пять, Pripjat’; or Pripyat) is an abandoned city in the Zone of alienation in northern Ukraine, Kiev Oblast, near the border with Belarus. It was home to the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant workers. The city was abandoned in 1986 following the Chernobyl disaster. Its population had been around 50,000 prior to the accident.

Chernobyl (as transliterated from the Russian: Чернобыль, Russian pronunciation: [tɕɪˈrnobɨlʲ]), or Chornobyl (as transliterated from Ukrainian: Чорнобиль, IPA: [tʃɔrˈnɔbɪlʲ]), was a city in northern Ukraine, in the Kyiv Oblast (province) near the border with Belarus.

The city was evacuated in 1986 due to the Chernobyl disaster at the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant, which is located 14.5 kilometers (9 miles) north-northwest. The power plant was named after the city, and located within Chornobyl Raion (district), but the city was not the residence of the power plant workers. Together with the power plant construction, Pripyat, a city, which was larger and closer to the power plant, was built to be home for the power plant workers.

Though the city is today mostly uninhabited, a small number of inhabitants reside in houses marked with signs stating that the "Owner of this house lives here". Workers on watch and administrative personnel of the Zone of Alienation are stationed in the city on a long term basis. Prior to its evacuation, the city was inhabited by about 15,000 residents.

Uhniv (Ukrainian: Угнів, Polish: Uhnów, Yiddish: הובנוב) is a city in Lviv Oblast (province) of Ukraine. Population is 1,021 (2001).

Uhniv (or Uhnowor Uchnów or Hivniv) is the Rava Ruska district in Eastern Galicia, 22 kilometers from Belz, 21 km from Rava Ruska. The capital of the district is Lemberg (Lvov). At the end of 2nd century A.D. the Goths invaded Galicia. They conquered the Hivniv area and settled there. At the end of the 4th Century A.D. the Huns conquered and replaced the Goths. In the middle of the 5th century the Slovenes took control of the area. In 1019 the area was conquered by the Polish King; until 1462 the area was under ducal control. In that year Belz was established as a district (wiebudstabo) under Polish rule - this district included the town that was later called Hivniv. The settlements in the Belz area belonged to various owners; some to the kingdom (these were called crown cities) and some individuals calles squires. In that year (1462) King Kazimirz gave his permission to a man called Zigmond to give the name Uhnow (Hivniv) (his crest) to the placs as a reward for his giving protection to the Belz area. And so the village became an independent town, free of wider supervision. The inhabitants were not under the squires control but under the kins rule.

In 1477 several villages were included in the general area of Hivniv, This area was extended 1n 1595. In 1914 there were more than 20 villages surrounding the town of Hivniv.

In 1497 the crusaders came to the district to help the Polish king against Tutkish invaders. In 1548-9 the Tatars invaded; from 1648-1655 the area suffered from Chamilinitsky, a pole who joined forces with the Tarters.

In the following years many wars took place there, until the division of Poland and the transfer of Galicia to Austrian rule. After the 2nd World War Soviet Union took control of the Area.

Demond "Bob" Sanders (born February 24, 1981 in Erie, Pennsylvania) is an American football safety for the Indianapolis Colts of the National Football League. He was drafted by the Colts in the second round of the 2004 NFL Draft. He played college football at Iowa.

In his NFL career, Sanders has earned two Pro Bowl selections, been named AP NFL Defensive Player of the Year and earned a Super Bowl ring in Super Bowl XLI. Nicknamed "The Hitman" because of his hard hits and tackles. Another nicknamed that has stuck is "The Sandman" because of his last name.

Born with a name (Demond)[1] that was difficult for many to pronounce correctly, Sanders asked his mother if his name could be changed. His mother suggested "Bob" as a nickname, and the name stuck. His parents are Jean and Marion Sanders.

Erie (pronounced /ˈɪəri/) is an industrial city on the shore of Lake Erie in the northwestern corner of the U.S. state of Pennsylvania. Named for the lake and the Native American tribe that resided along its southern shore, Erie is the state's fourth-largest city (after Philadelphia, Pittsburgh and Allentown), with a population of 104,000.[2] Erie's Metropolitan Area consists of approximately 481,000 residents. The city is the seat of government for Erie County.

Erie is in proximity to Cleveland, Ohio; Buffalo, New York; and Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Once teeming with heavy industry, Erie's heavy manufacturing sector now consists mainly of plastics and locomotive building. Known for its lake effect snow, Erie is in the heart of the rust belt and has begun to focus on tourism as a driving force in its economy. More than four million people each year visit Presque Isle State Park,[3] for water recreation, and a new casino named for the state park is growing in popularity.

Erie is known as the Flagship City because of the presence of Oliver Hazard Perry's flagship Niagara.[4] Erie has also been called the Gem City because of the "sparkling" lake.[4]

he Bluenotes is a low cost Canadian brand and was established in 1984. It has since developed into one of Canada's leading denim retailers and used to be called Thrifty's.

In the early 1990s popular American labels like The Gap and Old Navy began to enter the Canadian market and soon Thrifty's was unable to compete in terms of cost and style. Thirfty's 107 stores were bought out by US retailer American Eagle Outfitters from Dylex and rebranded the store with the Bluenotes name in 2000.

However this proved to be a difficult challenge for the big American retailer, and after several years of losing money the division was sold to privately owned YM Inc. in 2004.

jakncoke

An occultation is an event that occurs when one object is hidden by another object that passes between it and the observer. The word is used in astronomy (see below) and can also be used in a general (non-astronomical) sense to describe when an object in the foreground occults (covers up) objects in the background. In the general sense, occultation applies to the visual scene from low-flying aircraft and in Computer-Generated Imagery (CGI) technology, where foreground objects obscure distant ones in a dynamic way as the scene changes.

Regulus (α Leo / α Leonis / Alpha Leonis) is the brightest star in the constellation Leo and one of the brightest stars in the nighttime sky. Regulus is approximately 77.5 light years from Earth’s Solar System. Regulus is considered the last first magnitude star in the sky because the next brightest star, Adhara, has a magnitude of 1.50, officially making it a second magnitude star.

There are many references to the 51st century in the revived series of Doctor Who. One of the Doctor's companions, Captain Jack Harkness, originates from the 51st century. The events of "The Girl in the Fireplace" partly take place during sometime in the 51st Century, and the two part story "Silence in the Library"/"Forest of the Dead" is set during this period.

The events of the video game series Xenosaga take place sometime in the early 6000s. Due to the vagueness of the times given in Episode 1 of the series ('20xx' followed by '4000 years in the future'), it is possible the events cross over into the 62nd century (though, contrary to the game itself, the dates given in Xenogears Perfect Works would place Xenosaga's events in 7277 on the AD calendar). It should be noted that Perfect Works does not apply to the Xenosaga line, as many of the writers of the Xenogears series are no longer involved in the Xenosaga project.
