For those that run steam, do you have any of the programs that could not allow steam to run? I.E AVG antivirus etc.? I have AVG n stuff, and it says I have to completely uninstall it because it could be making steam crash, but if this isnt the problem, I don't want to do this..

avg the free virus program? yeah that could give you problems because they find everything as threats - you can also look at your windows firewall to make sure steam is allowed to connect to the internet and even start

also check for spam ware and adware scanners - they can also consider steam to be a threat lol - its weird i know but they are designed to do that to every program
