Single Player, Multiplayer & Co-op

The latest game of the popular series is under development and heading back to World War II.
Using the same Game Engine as it's widely-loved predecessor, Call of Duty 4, World at War will hopefully surpass all FPS' on the market today and raise the standards for gaming as a whole.

shame about it being in WWII, i always feel that theres a limit to what can be done in a game when its set in those times and the guns never look cool lol

but I have heard that all of the call of duty's focus on world war 2
they should focus on something else like
the korean war? or vietnam war?

aww i couldn't even get a CoD4 server up for the forum....dont want to go straight to CoD5 - or do i?

i've played CoD4 on pc - it was awesome - wouldn't be surprised if CoD5 sells like crazy when it comes out

It's probably almost a sure thing that it won't sell as well as cod4. The fact that Treyarch is making it will cause a lot of people to not even mess with it. Plus Cod4 was awesome so even if someone else made it, it probably wouldn't sell as well.

considering COD4 has sold 10+ million, ya that's a definite yes considering ppl like IW way more than Treyarch and many like myself are boycotting the game for going back to WW2

yeah im trying to get the game - not in any hurry though lol, just looking and bidding on ebay :D time consuming but who cares..as long as i get it cheap - dont have a lot of money to waste on games these days

It sucks that it's going back to WW2 and that it'll probabky be released later in Europe. But it's Call of Duty so it should still be good.

Activision demanded a call of duty title every year......They couldn't break their contract.

i disagree you there, it's the best game of all time, but i haven't tested cod4 though. cod2 is a game i like and then i stick too it. i don't play games because it's the most popular and most pro's.... i play since i think it's fun.

CoD4 will still last awhile... CoD2 is just now starting to die. They finally dropped it from Cal not to long ago. CoD4 will still have at least 3 more seasons of Cal.

well they should actually look around for soo many wars fought and can make many interesting versions like the vietnam war .. Iraq War.... Gulf War... rather than only concentrating on WWII.

Well WW2 takes a role in FPS Games. A lot of people like WW2 games, so don't dismiss cod5 yet. It will do really well, as good as cod4? Probably not, a big reason why it won't is because treyarch made it. Is it a fact that more people like MW than WW2 ? No, I've been on forums where more people liked WW2 games....

Well .. COD2 was good .. it was COD3 which was bad... and then the COD4 version was just perfect. Although the campaign is too small. Lets hope COD5 is atleast nicer then 2 & 3.

Well, the reason that CoD3 was bad was, because it wasn't made by infinity ward. Which is a big reason a lot of people won't buy CoD5, because it's made by the same company has CoD3. Which that company is Treyarch..... Also if you are saying CoD 2: Big Red One... The one for Consoles, then it's also made by Treyarch. But CoD2 was made by Infinity Ward and only on PC.

I am not crazy about COD4. I mean it's ok. and I like playing it when I wanna play multiplayer and I'm want a break from halo. But recently I'm all about Assassin's Creed.

WWII Really? WHy would they not go near future with there imagitination instead of making us play with the same guns we have seen too many times. I like the newest onethe best overall but I loved the sniper maps in CoD 2-3 so I really hope they bring back that style of shooting.
