It's all about money i guess.
I thought EA has a full licensing agreement with the National Football League and NFL Players Club.

They only have legal rights over players that are active, this is how All-Pro 2K8 was able to make a game with retired players.

That was probably boring. I don't know too many retired players, so I would be using random people who I don't even know.

I would of liked it, if the game had a franchise mode and better graphics. funny thing about that game, they paid OJ Simpson so they could use him in it.
