Will carry the same £199.99 retail price as the 20GB model it will replace.

Microsoft today announced that it is increasing the storage capacity of the original Xbox 360 console from 20GB to 60GB, tripling the storage users will have for demos, videos and full game installs.

The new 60GB Xbox 360 will be available across the UK from August 15 at no extra cost - £199.99.

"No one device offers the depth and breadth of entertainment that Xbox 360 can deliver and we know consumers need increasingly more and more space to store the amazing digital entertainment content we provide," said Neil Thompson, Senior Regional Director, Entertainment and Devices Division, Microsoft Ltd. "Now the Xbox 360 has triple the space to house all your entertainment needs at no extra cost."

The 60GB model will include a wireless controller, headset, Silver Xbox LIVE membership and a one month subscription to the full Gold service. The price of the Arcade and Elite models remain at £159.99 and £259.99 respectively.

nice value there, smart move by not raising the price.

Thats pretty cool. makes me wanna go spend all my money on an xbox 360 and other xbox junk.

thats a decent price for them - how much is the 60gb here? i know stuff is cheaper here compared to the UK when you convert the currency lol

because on ebay you can get a 160GB Hard Drive for $160-200

yup - but to us its a rip off lol

i have family and friends in the UK - they are probably happy about the new price - we just need it lowered a little more lol

then your just not into video games enough then, that's a lot value for the 350.

They better lower the price of a bigger HD now for the people that already have a 20gb.

oh no you misunderstood

i was saying £199.99 to them is about $400 to us - if we were to fly to the UK to get the console, its $50 extra which is the rip off - just an example lol

i wasn't talking about $350 being a rip off to me. was just comparing the converted prices - dont know if that made any sense lol

I see...come to think of it, that's dirt cheap seeing there wages are higher as well.
