What do you guys think about the new Phpbb3 coming out soon. I've tried it out for fun...And I personally...LOVE it...By far, it's probably one of the best boards I've ever used. Can't wait 'till it comes out :).
What you guys think about it?

I used PHPbb a little while ago. I don't really like the system myself, it's too annoying to manage and not that many mods that interest me. I will give it that PHP has some good themes if you're too lazy to code your own though.

The New phpbb3 though..Has a lot of MODS already installed in though..So it's much better then the other version.

Not really a test forum..They just let you use it before it actually comes out...To test it..But you have to install it yourself.
You could test it out on mine. Let me know here if you want to, I'll PM you the info.

Well..The Final Phpbb3 isn't out yet...But I think you could just change the Changed Files..But not sure about that one...I'll get back at you with a final answer.

No, it's not really hard to install.

But let me remind you, it's not out yet. it's in its BETA5 Phase still. It's only supposed to be used for testing.

Databse Name = The name where u want the forums located (ex: forum)
Username = The name that you use for MySQL database
Password = Password used for MySQP database
Prefix for tables in database = phpbb_

You have to make it up from your MySQL panel...You should wait till Linux comes back to do that...He did that part for me.

In your cPanel...Should Say something like "MySql Databases"

WRONG!!!! lol, not to spoil ur parade, but there is another version of paid phpbb that has EVERYTHING, and i mean every single mod installed in it, its called phpBB Fully Modded, now that has everything in a forum to start with :) plus extras, some mods on that arent even out for the regular phpBBs lol

Phpbb3 is free, phpbb full modded, you have to pay for (From what Linux said)

phpbb staff told me they would make it like almost as an update.. just like phpbb2 updates are except this one will probably be much more harder and time consuming but mayb not.. :)

what's the difference between just an update and a whole upgrade lol, basically the same thing, it'll still be from phpbb2 to phpbb3 right? they just make stuff more complicated than they need to be lol

Whoa..It doesn't cost anything greent..It's completely free..phpbb3 is completely free lol...and diablo, it's not really the same thing, they changed many things..It's really cool.

yea they have tons of bugs still, SMF 1.1 beta versions actually has fewer bugs but phpBB3 latest beta has more bugs than their last one, kinda weird and bad
