Carlos Zambrano is the first player to throw a no hitter on September 14th

the first player that has a last name start with Z to do so as well


before Zambrano the last no hitter thrown in Milwaukee was Steve Busby of the Royals on June 19, 1974

before last night the closest Zambrano got to a no hitter was 7 and 2/3rd's innings

Zambrano is the 3rd Venezuela born player to throw a no hitter joining Anibal Sanchez , Wilson Alvarez

The Cubs last no hitter was in by Milt Pappas in 1972

before last night they held the 3rd longest drought, Padres haven't had a no hitter in 39 years and the Mets have yet to have one in their 46 years of existence
