What was the first RPG you have ever played?

For me it was mario lol, it is partly an RPG game since you play the role of mario :) well i count it as an rpg lol, otherwise it was Final Fantasy XII (7)

NeverWinter Nights, that game got me completey addicted, lol

Ever since then I've been an Rpg fan and love them more or and more as the graphics and game play keeps on improving.

I dont really think that you can class mario as an RPG if you do then you would have to say the likes of Sonic and Crash Bandicoot are RPG's too and they definatly aren't.

they are action/adventure games but as long as you play the role of those characters, it is RPG, role playing game, since you cant really choose other characters like most RPGs

Mine was probably Mario too. There was this one very old game system where you got to be wizards and stuff that my brothers played before Mario. But I don't think I ever got the chance to play it.

I still dont think they could be classed as RPG as its more an adventure game and level based than RPG. Guess different people see different games as being different genres.

well i do see it as an adventure game more than RPG but my idea of rpg is when you take a role of a single character and just go around doing missions and stuff, when you play the role of a character and not really allowed to change, and i did say mario is a partly rpg to me lol

Although it was an amazing game that I got really addicted to, I once spent about ?20 playing it in an arcade where I live, ever since had to be really carefull with what games I play that cost as i become addicted and broke, lol

Wow..20 pounds...the most i've ever spent in an arcade was like..8 dollars lol..Canadian :D.

Pokemon isn't old at all. In fact it was released about the same time as the Playstation unless I'm mistaken.

My first RPG was Dungeon Master on the Atari ST, only way you could complete that game was to draw up maps for every section, took a good 2-3yrs but finally did it lol

My first RPG game I ever played was Final Fantasy IX (9), got it from the shops cheap one day, thought I would try it, Never knew about Final Fanatsy before that day, and when I played it, I was in love, lol. Best game ever.

Used to play some purely text based RPGs on my TRS-80. Wow that was awhile ago. The first really good RGP game I played was Dragon's Quest on the Nintendo, I had a lot of fun with that one.

I'd say mine was Pokemon Blue on the GB. I haven't played many RPG's. I just don't like them. I couldn't get into FF or Kingdom Hearts and Oblivion is the only Elder Scrolls that I have liked.

Yeah that was Super Mario 64. One of the best and biggest selling Mario's ever. It was re-released on DS. It's a 3D Pltformer not an RPG Lol

Mario is a platformer!. The only RPG Mario's are the Paper Mario's and Mario & Luigi (on the handhealds).

my first RPG.. I think was King's Quest on the PC.. although.. there was this other game which was completely text-based prior to that, which I would also play for hours on the PC.. but I can't remember what it was called.. I think it was just called "Adventure". Anyone know what I'm talking about? There were no graphics.. and you had really basic commands to type in.. such as "LOOK" and it would feed you a description of the forest surrounding you. I loved that game.

mine is Pok?mon yellow >.< Runescape is an MMORPG its still RPG just multiplayer... mario isnt RPG!! its arcade and the 3D ones (Super Mario 64 N64) is Adventure... RPG is more gain levels get items stuff like that!! if it has 'World 1 Level 1' etc... its prolly arcade! pfft lol
