Bad news for the Irish


SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- Notre Dame forward Luke Harangody is out indefinitely with pneumonia.

Harangody, the Big East player of the year last season, became ill after scoring 29 points and grabbing 13 rebounds in No. 8 Notre Dame's 81-80 victory over Texas (No. 7 ESPN/USA Today, No. 6 AP) on Tuesday in the semifinals of the Maui Invitational.

Despite feeling ill, he had 13 points and seven rebounds in a 102-87 loss to top-ranked North Carolina in the championship game on Wednesday.

Harangody, a junior who has never missed a game at Notre Dame, leads the Irish in both scoring with 22.6 points a game and 11.2 rebounds a game.

Notre Dame coach Mike Brey said he is going to be cautious with Harangody. The Irish play Furman on Sunday.

just looked, wow LH played as well and had a good game..weird. sucks basically no Pitt games have been on TV and now there we don't play till the 13th and that game probably wont be on either seeing it's only UMBC. Pitt doesn't play Notre Dame till late Jan but when the time arrives we should lay a bet on it.
