Asheron's Call
I'm not sure if any of you have ever heard of Asheron's Call. It was one of the first MMO's ever. Yes it is still being maintained, updated and patched some 15 years later!
Well now you can get both AC, AC2 and a lifetime subscription for $9.99. I absolutely recommended checking it out if you have the chance

I knowwww! I was watching my husband play a bit (he's been streaming it if anyone is interested in seeing what it's like?), and it's *SO* weird and different. It's not like these simple little character classes with their simple little skills you see in newer games. There's a LOT of combinations and it's HARD. When you start, you actually put in your OWN stats. You have 100 points to split up. You could put all 100 points in strength if you wanted to. You don't see any MMO's with that option, and it's been longer than I can remember since I've seen a game like that.

I miss that kind of customization in many games, its a bit sad.

Me too. The lack of it is one of the most depressing things that has happened to gaming, imo. I blame graphics and casuals. Once graphics got amazing, all of the focus came off of gameplay/mechanics and went right to how everything looks. "The story sucks and the gameplay is meh.... BUT I CAN SEE EVERY STRAND OF HAIR!" *rolls eyes* And games are now being made for a more casual crowd. People that just want to play and don't want to put time into thinking about it :/

Thats the problem with graphics, its more expensive to make games and its not rare that over 200 people work on a single game. Sadly that mean they hardly take any chances and goes for the easy road. I personally cant understand it though, I have always thought that the more features the better but I dont know.
But Im torned, I do love good graphics as well

Same here. But don't worry, it will even out. Soon enough amazing graphics will be a cinch and they'll go back to making games with the whole package again
